Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa known for its dramatic landscape and diverse wildlife, much of it within parks, reserves and safari areas. On the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls make a thundering 108m drop into narrow Batoka Gorge, where there’s white-water rafting and bungee-jumping. Downstream are Matusadona and Mana Pools national parks, home to hippos, rhinos and birdlife.
Mana Pools National Park – Hwange National Park – Livingstone
Type: Private Tour
Take a flight from Harare International Airport to Zambezi Expedition. Mana Pools is charming and compact, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that makes game viewing wonderfully easy. This park is defined by water, with four pools populated by rumbustious hippo pods. Elephants clatter through majestic stands of ebony and mahogany trees, their colour a noticeable contrast to the lushness of the vegetation. The Zambezi River flows along the park’s northern edge, connecting it with Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park across the water. Gaze over the river, and you’re likely to see buffalo and wildebeest herds making the treacherous swim over the water, moving in search of fresh grazing pastures
Activities include game drives, walking safaris, canoeing safaris, fishing and bird watching.
