Journey Into the Wild Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa known for its dramatic landscape and diverse wildlife, much of it within parks, reserves and safari areas. On the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls make a thundering 108m drop into narrow Batoka Gorge, where there’s white-water rafting and bungee-jumping. Downstream are Matusadona and Mana Pools national parks, home to hippos, rhinos and birdlife.

Itinerary

Day 1-4ZIMBABWE - MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK

Take a flight from Harare International Airport to Zambezi Expedition. Mana Pools is charming and compact, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that makes game viewing wonderfully easy. This park is defined by water, with four pools populated by rumbustious hippo pods. Elephants clatter through majestic stands of ebony and mahogany trees, their colour a noticeable contrast to the lushness of the vegetation. The Zambezi River flows along the park’s northern edge, connecting it with Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park across the water. Gaze over the river, and you’re likely to see buffalo and wildebeest herds making the treacherous swim over the water, moving in search of fresh grazing pastures
Activities include game drives, walking safaris, canoeing safaris, fishing and bird watching.

Meals: Dinner and beverages (except premium imported spirits and champagne)
Overnight: Zambezi Expeditions

Day 4-6MANA POOLS NATIONAL PARK - KANGA CMAP

Pick up from Zambezi Expeditions and transfer to Kanga Camp which is set in the most remote part of the World Heritage Site in Mana Pools is the Kanga Pan. The 12-bedded tented camp has en-suite bathroom facilities with outdoor showers and basins overlooking the water hole
Besides game drives, bird watching and walking excursions, an hour’s drive brings you to the Zambezi floodplains in Mana Pools for canoeing and fishing excursions. Kanga works well in collaboration with Zambezi Expeditions to provide guests with an overall view of the inland and riverside experiences available in Mana Pools, one of the last remaining “untouched” wilderness paradises.
