Day 3 Husky Adventure, Transfer to Abisko, Aurora Sky Station

Start your day with a husky adventure. Transfer to the kennel on the road to Nikkaluokta through a river valley where moose congregate in winter. Once you arrive at the kennels get acquainted with the dogs and receive detailed instructions about how to drive them. Head out into the frozen river valley where you will have opportunities to take turns in driving the team whilst making stops to take photos. You will be out for around 2 hours before heading back to base for a warming lunch in the traditional ‘Kota’ adjacent to the family home.

After the Husky Adventure, you will be picked up for the 1hr transfer to Abisko Mountain Lodge and proceed to check in.

At around 1500hrs, you will be transferred to the Aurora Sky Station in Abisko. It is widely regarded as the best place in the world to see the Northern Lights which is located approx. 100km north of Kiruna. Take a chairlift up to Mount Nuolja to the Observatory which offers you a panoramic view while you enjoy an excellent 4-course exclusive dinner.
During the winter nights when it is dark, depending on the correct weather conditions, it is possible to see the Northern Lights dancing in the sky around you from this fantastic vantage point.
