A journey to the Eastern Gobi is an intimate and very unique experience. The Ikh Nartiin Chuluu Plateau has rich and unique landscapes consisting of granite rock formations, small veral pools, and springs with small stands of elms and poplars. It is one of the best Gobi wildlife areas with the world’s largest wild sheep with impressive horns, and about 200 Siberian Ibex.

Pick up by our guide from your hotel in Ulaanbaatar in the morning and transfer to the railway station. A train ride into arid Gobi steppe. Disembark at Dalanjargalan. Pick up by driver and drive to Red Rock Camp. Dinner will be served.

Overnight: IKh Nart Red Rock Camp
Explore the Ikh Nart area on foot or on horse or camel back. Mountain bikes are also available at camp. Your guide can lead you to a whole range of archaeological and historical sites including petroglyphs, burial sites and temple ruins. This 670-sq-km nature reserve, only a four-hour drive from Ulaanbaatar, at an elevation of 2200m, is home to hundreds of ibexes (mountain goats), argali (big-horn sheep), gazelles, black vultures, wolves and other wildlife. There are 10 nomadic herder families living in the park, which is studded with spectacular glacial rock formations, their winter corrals built into red cliffs.
