Meet your driver and guide after having breakfast at the hotel and get ready to explore the highlights of Muscat.
On this tour, you will visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque before driving along the Corniche waterfront that used to be the city’s commercial centre. The drive will start at the old fish market and you will get a chance to visit Muttrah Souq, a traditional Arab market selling Omani and Indian artefacts alongside traditional textile, hardware, and jewellery stores.
After leaving the souq, you will head over to Al Alam Palace, the official palace of Sultan Qaboos. A stroll away from the palace is the National Museum which would provide an introduction to the history of Oman. The palace is also flanked by the Al-Mirani & Al-Jelani forts which offer a rich insight into Oman’s history and heritage.
The last stretch of the tour will bring you to Shatti Al Qurm for visit to the Royal Opera House.

Check out of the hotel after breakfast and start of a two nights expedition into the Wahiba Desert
You will first make your way through Wadi Mayh before making your way to the coastal road that runs between Muscat and Sur. Then, you will head up the northern face of the Hajar Mountains and be brought to the peak of the Selmah Plateau. Here, you will stop for a freshly prepared picnic lunch.
Then, you will head through Wadi Kabbah and by evening, you will enter the desert and reach the camp set up with the dunes.
As the camp is deep within the Wahiba Desert, you will be able to avoid light pollution and enjoy the night sky.

On the second day at the desert, you will first enjoy a drive to Wadi Bani Khalid, a green oasis set against a mountainous backdrop. Here, you will be able to gain an insight into the lives of Omanis. You will then have a picnic lunch under the shade of the cliffs.
On the way back to camp, you will have the chance to be put behind the wheels of the 4×4 and experience some offroad driving.
In the late afternoon, you can try sandboarding or you can just relax and enjoy the view before having a dinner served beside a crackling log fire.

Leave the desert behind while you start off with a drive to Nizwa, the capital of Oman in the 6th and 7th century.
Along the way, stop at Ibra and visit the Jabrin castle and the historic fort of Bahla before arriving at Nizwa.
Settle down at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Today, you will be visiting the highlights of Nizwa on a full day tour.
Start off your tour with a visit to Nizwa Souq, the most famous souq in Oman. Here, you can find fish, meat, vegetables, pottery, jewellery, handicrafts, and souvenirs sold by locals. If you’re there on a Friday, you will be able to witness “The Friday Cattle Market”, where the locals from the nearby villages come to sell their livestock.
Next to the Souq is the Nizwa Fort Oman which dates back to the mid of the 17th century. The fort offers scenic views of the ancient town and the surrounding mountains. Then you will be driven to Al Hamra, one of the most beautiful places in Oman, 40 km north west of Nizwa.
You will also visit Bait al-Jabal Museum, billed as “the first museum in Oman” presenting antiques and masterpieces in their traditional setting.
Next, you will be given a tour of a traditional 7 bedroom house by locals and after the tour, you will be led into a Majilis (Omani living room) and have a chance to interact with locals over coffee and tea.
Then, we will move on towards Misfath al Arbien, a unique village named after Al Abri tribe at the foothill of the mountain surrounding al Hamra. The highlight of the village is a beautifully preserved old house that was built on Solid Rocks.
